10/10 – An Unforgettable Dining Experience! Tweed River House exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the service was faultless—warm, attentive, and professional without being overbearing. We enjoyed the oysters, beef tartare, short ribs, lamb, and an array of stunning desserts. Every single dish was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. The oysters were fresh and briny, the tartare delicately balanced, and both the short ribs and lamb were melt-in-your-mouth tender. The desserts were a perfect finish—elegant, creative, and delicious. The setting is just as memorable as the food—peaceful, picturesque, and perfect for a special evening. Tweed River House is an absolute must-visit. We’ll definitely be back

Fantastic location on the tweed river. Amazing views of Mount Warning. Team were very friendly, food was excellent with an innovative menu and a great blend of flavours , textures and presentation. Wine list was extensive but not obscene. I had steak tartar and the duck. Both were excellent. Highly recommended.

What a treat in Murwillumbah with a gorgeous view of Mt Warning and Tweed River as a backdrop. I had the 3 course menu which was beautifully presented and each dish was explained by a lovely young girl Sienna. I love they acknowledge where the produce comes from in the local area. The Beef tartare was the best I have ever had.

I had read about the amazing food on offer at Tweed River House and when we were looking for somewhere to eat near Murwillumbah, they happily accommodated us for lunch….although I would book ahead in future. We opted for the 3 course meal, and we were delighted with the menu offerings, which were enough to give everyone an option but not overwhelming with choice. We enjoyed the Beef and Scallops for entree, the lobster and trout for mains and the Snickers and Banana for dessert. The beef entree was my unexpected favourite dish, with the perfect balance between the well seasoned and flavoured beef and the brioche to accompany…it makes me salivate just thinking about it. Each dish was beautifully presented and highlighted each curated ingredient deliciously. The service and ambience obviously adds to the experience as well as the gorgeous cocktails and other drinks available. You must visit Tweed River House if you live close by and if you don’t, make a day of it, you’ll love it too.

Simply Excellent. We visited for Lunch experiencing the Summer menu from which we chose a more of a country style plating with the 3 courses, not opting for seafood, but I would love to try the next time I visit. Yes, there will be a next time. We were very welcomed by the staff, Fletcher, the restaurant manager was kind accommodating and very informative with the menu. The river view is encapsulating and sets the stage for some well presented food that has a rich and well composed flavours that ties the experience together. We ate; Entrees Pork + Seasonal Salad. My partner claimed the pork was some of the best she has eaten, accompanied with endive, we could have licked the plate clean. The salad had a lightly pickled pepo style variety with leaves and a macadamia cheese. Mains Beef + Venison. The venison had a rich flavour construct, perfectly cooked and seasoned with berry and beetroot and a delicious sauce that bound it (Highly recommend). The dark chocolate with the venison, don't be fooled here, this is a cacao base and light that compliments the dish, the berry brings sweetness and the cacao blends it with the meat. This was my favourite. The beef, cooked tender and large cut. Very country style flavours as I mentioned and each dish was sauced very well that it did not take the attention away from the protein. Dessert Banana flambé + Rhubarb panna cotta. We almost ordered another one of each. For the non-adventurous, the Banana Flambé is a no brainer, big win. The Rhubarb panna cotta however, was a great finish as summer flavours that was delicate, light and danced with flavour. Very happy with the whole experience and a great gem in the Tweed area. If you're a driver and diner, put this on your map. Book early was recommended from the staff. Looking forward to visiting again.

Tweed River House is a wonderful destination dining experience. So beautifully renovated this old Queenslander is decorated in a stunningly beautiful plantation style, think Raffles Singapore. Situated right on the river with stunning views of Mt Warning and surrounding mountains. The food is a culinary experience the wine list is extensive and service was friendly and personal. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back. After lunch make sure to go downstairs to enjoy the lawn bar for afternoon drinks and refreshments and watch the sunset over the mountain ranges and river. Thank you Gregory and Phillip for your hospitality and Grant our waiter too. See you soon… Madonna & Tim xx

There are occasions when a restaurant exceeds expectations, and Tweed River House in Murwillumbah is undoubtedly one of them. From the moment you arrive, the setting captures your attention. Housed in a beautifully restored heritage home overlooking the Tweed River, the restaurant strikes a perfect balance between understated elegance and relaxed country charm. The thoughtfully curated décor, high ornate ceilings and tranquil surroundings create an atmosphere that immediately signals this will be a special dining experience. As impressive as the venue is, the food is what truly steals the show. Every course is crafted with remarkable precision and showcases the incredible produce of the Tweed region. The menu celebrates local growers, fishermen and artisans, allowing each ingredient to shine while combining flavours that are both refined and beautifully balanced. Every plate arrives looking like a work of art, yet nothing feels pretentious—the focus remains firmly on exceptional flavour. Equally deserving of praise is the service. In many fine dining establishments, attentive service can sometimes feel rehearsed or intrusive. Here, it is neither. Every member of the waitstaff is genuinely engaged, knowledgeable and passionate about the menu. Each course is presented with confidence and accompanied by a flawless explanation of the ingredients, techniques and inspiration behind the dish. Their timing is impeccable, striking that rare balance of being constantly present without ever hovering. Having dined at acclaimed restaurants in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, I can confidently say that Tweed River House belongs in the same conversation. It delivers a level of culinary excellence and hospitality that you would normally associate with Australia’s finest metropolitan restaurants, yet it does so in the heart of regional New South Wales. Tweed River House is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. It showcases what is possible when outstanding local produce, ta
